International Yoga Day: 3,000 take part at Panjab varsity

Varsity to continue providing yoga training facilities on campus.

As part of International Yoga Day celebrations, Panjab University (PU) organised a yoga camp at the PU Cricket Ground on Tuesday morning. Large number of students, teachers, alumni, their family members from PU, its affiliated colleges and CRIKC institutions performed yoga during the yoga camp.

More than three thousand participants from PU participated in the International Yoga Day Celebration in Chandigarh. About 1,500 members from PU also participated at their allocated block at Chandigarh Capital Complex with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a large number of participants performed yoga at PU cricket ground.

PU Vice Chancellor Professor Arun Kumar Grover has announced that as an outreach programme of PU, the university would continue to provide yoga training facilities on a daily basis, throughout the year.

The university had been organising six yoga training camps daily for the last one month and large number of participants had been attending the camps
regularly.
