PANAJI: Panaji police on Tuesday sent a letter addressed to Sussanne Khan, former wife of Bollywood actor Hritik Roshan, at her Mumbai residence, asking her to submit documents to refute the complainant’s allegations in the case of cheating filed against her by a real estate firm.
The letter was issued under Section 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code (summons to produce document or other thing), said PI Siddhant Shirodkar of Panaji police station.

Khan had been booked in an alleged Rs 1.87 crore cheating case after Mudhit Gupta, managing partner of Emgee Properties, had filed a complaint stating she had falsely projected herself as an architect to secure a contract for “architectural and designing services” with the company in September 2013. Gupta also alleged that Khan failed to deliver the project within the time period stipulated in the contract.
Khan, in her defense, said she did not make any misrepresentations and had maintained the highest standards of ethics while discharging her work. She further accused Emgee Enterprises of holding up her payments.
“The complaint has been filed only to intimidate and pressurize me to withdraw the arbitration proceedings initiated to recover my dues from Emgee Enterprises. I’m going to take the arbitral proceedings to the logical conclusions and instead of getting intimated will respond to such frivolous complaint and will give a befitting response,” she said.
