Pune: The anti-corruption bureau on Tuesday arrested sub-inspector Ganesh Sheshrao Shinde from the Talegaon Dabhade MIDC police station while accepting a smart phone as bribe.
The ACB said Shinde had demanded the smartphone from the complainant for not registering a case of armed robbery against him under section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in robbery) of the Indian Penal Code.
Shinde was arrested after the complainant approached police. "He was arrested red-handed while accepting the smartphone from the complainant near the Lake Paradise Society gate in Talegaon Dabhade," the ACB said.
