Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao today called upon the people to participate voluntarily in the Haritha Hyderabad program — a mass plantation drive — on July 11 from 10 am to 12 noon.
At a review meeting with GHMC, HMDA and other officials here on Tuesday, KTR said the program will be taken up with a slogan “Every person should plant one sapling each”. To transform the city into a green beld like Maha Yagnam, 25 lakh plants have been kept ready for the big event which will help get rid of from environment pollution and attract rains he said. The people from all walks of life should attend the mass plantation program and make it a success KTR said. He also asked the officials to provide a website facility and a toll free number to help youth and the people to know and participate about plantation drive. (NSS)
