In a decade when film soundtracks spawned Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits like Simple Minds‘ “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” and Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes‘ “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” the absence of an official soundtrack release for 1986’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was puzzling.
But for the film’s 30th anniversary, an authorized soundtrack featuring both songs and score will finally be released, Salon reported Monday (June 20.) La La Land Records and Paramount Pictures have teamed up to finally release a proper authorized soundtrack and score in honor of the film’s 30th anniversary.
