Minister of Industries & Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga attended a North Zone seminar organized by Laghu Udyog Bharti at Jallandhar regarding various problems being faced by Micro & Small industrial Units.The seminar was attended by Minister of Industries & Commerce of Punjab, Madan Mohan Mittal, Minister for Renewable Energy of Haryana, Nayab Singh besides others.The major thrust of the seminar was on the problems faced by different sectors of industrial units. Mr. Chander Parkash Ganga speaking on the occasion invited the industrialists to invest in J&K and assured that the State Government shall provide all possible support. He said that industrial projects worth 2200 crore have been cleared by the State Industries & Commerce Ministry during last years which includes Blue Star, Dabur, ITC among others.Laghu Udyog Bharti, J&K Division presented a Memorandum on the occasion requesting the extension of Industrial Package of Government of India issued in 2002 which included the provisions of Income Tax Holiday, Central Excise Package and rationalization of DIPP package with neutrality of location for the existing as well as new units in the state of J&K.
During the seminar, it was also suggested that a mother industry on the lines of Railways, Defence, Automobile be set up in the State for providing employment to local skilled and unskilled youth besides linking Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). It was further proposed that the Government must act as ‘facilitator’ instead of regulator to abolish ‘Inspector Raj’ in MSME.Laghu Udyog Bharti also recommended the conversion of lease hold rights into ownership rights in favour of permanent residents of J&K State in the industrial areas of the state especially in cases of leases extending beyond 25 years.The Seminar was attended by Mr. Rajinder Gupta (President), Parveen Pargal (Gen. Secretary), Mr. R.P Aggarwal, Senior Vice President, Mr. Tarsam Gupta (Vice President), Mr. Subash Gupta (Treasurer) and other members of Laghu Udyog Bharti, Jammu and Kashmir.
