Putting all rumours of ill health aside, superstar Rajinikanth is set to return to India from the US on July 3.

Rajinikanth is currently holidaying with his family in the US, said reports. He also supposedly underwent make-up tests in the US for the mega-budgeted Enthiran 2.0, the sequel to the blockbuster Tamil film Enthiran.

It is rumoured that Rajinikanth's family doctor advised the actor to take a break from the back-to-back shooting schedule of Kabali and 2.0.

After his return from the States, Rajinikanth will resume work on director Shankar's magnum opus Enthiran 2.0, which is currently being shot across various places in Chennai.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is playing the antagonist in the film, is supposedly shooting in disguise to avoid being recognised in public.

The makers of the film have erected a massive set in EVP Film City in Chennai, where it is believed some important scenes between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are to be shot.

The film also stars Amy Jackson and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles. However, one has to wait and see if 2.0 is a sequel to the film or traces a different track altogether.
