VHP says Hindu population down in UP, to conduct survey
New Delhi, June 21: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad would meet on June 23 at Patna to discuss the dwindling population of Hindus in Uttar Pradesh.
The VHP would conduct a survey in Uttar Pradesh to identify areas in Uttar Pradesh where the population of Hindus have gone down.
The three day meet which would commence from June 23 onwards will be held at Patna. The VHP decided to undertake this exercise after it had got reports from several areas in UP where the population of Hindus had gone down.
The VHP says that Hindus in most of these areas were in majority 60 years back, but due to migration the population had gone down.
The VHP's exercise would focus around studying the declining population and also the reasons behind the migration. The issue had gained steam after allegations were made about a large exodus of Hindus from Kairana in Uttar Pradesh.
