CM mocks Duraimurugan

June 21, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:41 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa mocked DMK deputy leader Duraimurugan over the issue of installation of Murasoli Maran’s statue in Parliament.

The Chief Minister just arrived when AIADMK MLA S. Semmalai was informing the House that the DMK erected the state of Murasoli Maran when it got an opportunity.

“But our leader [Jayalalithaa] ensured that the statues of Anna and MGR were placed in Parliament,” he said amidst protests from the DMK members, and Mr. Duraimurgan stood up to raise a point.

At this juncture, Ms. Jayalalithaa intervened to say that the Opposition was very angry and the way Mr. Duraimurugan stood up gave the impression that he was of the opinion that the installation of Murasoli Maran’s statue was a wrong and shameful act.
