Three unidentified bike-borne assailants stabbed and injured a patwari in Ujjain on Monday morning.

Indore : Three unidentified bike-borne assailants stabbed and injured a patwari in Ujjain on Monday morning.
Subhash Sharma, a patwari of Ghatiya area, was on way to work when the bike-borne assailants accosted him and attacked him on the road from Mangalnath temple to Siddhawat temple, Bherogarh police said.
Sharma sustained stab injuries on his torso and was rushed to a hospital.
His condition is reported to be stable. The patwari told the police that he could not identify the attackers, but belie'ved that it was intended to deter him from discharging his duties.
Sharma was on way to get a piece of land belonging to a temple that was illegally occupied by influential landlords in Ghatiya area. Though the attack could not be linked to this, police added.
