Radio silence not golden for trio of world champions

By Agence France-Presse in Baku | China Daily | Updated: 2016-06-21 08:14

Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso on Sunday blasted Formula One's ban on in-race radio assistance, which they claim ruined the spectacle of the European Grand Prix.

Defending three-time champion Hamilton and 2007 champion Raikkonen were upset by their respective Mercedes and Ferrari teams' radio silences on technical issues.

Former double champion Alonso, who failed to finish the race in Baku in his McLaren, claimed the rule "made no sense".
