The Munster hurling final between Tipperary and Waterford will be played at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Sunday, July 10.

A meeting of the Munster Council's Competitions Control Committee decided on Limerick rather than Semple Stadium - it is believed the wishes of the Waterford players were a factor.

The sides met in Thurles in last year's Munster final, which Tipp won by six points. Waterford have played their last four games - a League semi-final against Limerick, two League finals and a Munster semi-final against Clare - in Thurles, while they also beat Tipperary there in a League match earlier this year.

Traditionally Tipperary and Waterford Munster finals have taken place in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, but the Cork venue is closed for reconstruction.
