JAMMU, June 20: The general category people have resolved to boycott MLAs supporting reservation in promotions in the State.
Joint Action Committee (JAC) of general category people and Aarakshan Virodhi Manch units of Hiranagar (Kootah) and Reasi (Pouni) during massive meetings today resolved to boycott all those Legislators who are supporting reservation in promotions . The meetings were held under the leadership of Ved Parkash Sharma convenor of the JAC and president Brahman Sabha. Tremendous response was received by the JAC team at both the places.
Convenor of the JAC Mr Sharma, informed the public that mischievous designs of some MLAs like Rigzin Jora from Leh, Asgar Ali Karbalaie from Kargil, Deldan Namgyal from Nubra, Javed Rana from Mendhar, Ajaz Ahmed Khan from Gool Arnas, Mumtaz Ahmed from Gulabgarh, Neelam Langeh from Ramban, Dina Nath from Chenani, Kuldip Raj from Hiranagar, Dr Devinder Manyal from Samba, Dr Krishan Lal from Chhamb, Qamar Hussain from Rajouri and Ch Mohd Akram from Surankote who have formed an unholy consortium in Legislative Assembly irrespective of Party affiliation to pursue their nefarious objective of seeking passage of Bill over ruling the judgment of High Court striking down the Reservation in Promotions Rules 9, 10 and 34 and Section 6 of Reservation Act 2005, will definitely face the wrath of the general category members. They have also sought the mandate from the general category members but their anti-general category decision is highly condemnable.
He said the action of these MLAs speaks volume of the brewing hatred among them against general category masses and they have breached the oath of Constitution taken by them while assuming the charge as public representative. They have built an unholy consortium on the basis of caste to seek murder of merit and seniority.
Dr RC Sharma while speaking on the occasion expressed displeasure over the conduct of these MLAs who have been voted to power by all community/ category members but unfortunately their approach has become partisan. He said after 11 years of relentless struggle High Court quashed the reservation in Promotions Rules and held them unconstitutional. Even the apex court has issued similar observations in case title Indira Sawhney Vs Union of India.
Members from JAC and Aarakshan Virodhi Manch during these meetings unanimously decided to boycott these MLAs and teach them a lesson in next elections. Jeet Kesar Sarpanch Pouni, Ram Seth from AVM, Madan Lal Narad, Brahm Dutt and Capt Daleep Singh also addressed ther gathering.
