Exhibition: Multiples in Focus

June 21, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 12:56 pm IST

‘Multiples in Focus’ showcases works by four artists: Manjunath Kamath, Nandini Valli Muthiah, Surendran Nair and Vivek Vilasini. These predominantly surrealist works are rooted in Indian settings. While Mangalore-based Kamath is known for juxtaposing myths with modern life, Chennai-based Muthiah photographs India’s heroic figures in ordinary settings to comment on middle-class aspirations. Nair draws from Indian and western mythologies to lend surrealism to his paintings while Vilasini’s photographs depict the paradoxes of India.
