The dacoits, identified as Deepak Giri (27), Bhagwat Salam (25), Pankaj Thakre (28), Mangesh Korde (27) and Saurabh Wakade (19), were nabbed by cops when complainant Manoj Patel (28) approached police after being robbed of Rs8,400 at NH-6 near Dhamangaon on Nagpur-Amravati Road on Sunday midnight.

It is learnt that one more man fell victim to this gang, and had also been stabbed and beaten on the head by this gang at Kondhali. Cops said one of these gang members is a hard-core criminal, accused in two offences of thefts at Jalalkheda and Kondhali police stations.
