994 schools opened in 3 yrs: Bharmouri

CHAMBA: Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri inaugurated the upgraded Government Senior Secondary School, Ladda, and a primary school at Dunali in the district on Sunday.

Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri inaugurated the upgraded Government Senior Secondary School, Ladda, and a primary school at Dunali in the district on Sunday.

The minister said education was government’s top priority, especially in remote areas. During the past three years, the state government had opened 25 degree colleges and 994 schools, he said.

Bharmouri asked the Block Education Officer, Ghera, to open primary schools at Mundara, Dhar and Kuthwada soon. He also directed the officers concerned to start the construction of a primary school at Chhuati.

The minister said many road development projects had been executed in the past three years. Rs 30 lakh had been allocated for the Gehra-Jauva road, Rs15 lakh for the Chho-Trehra road and Rs 30 lakh for the Galthan-Mahasu road, he said. He also announced the construction of a parking at Chhatrari for Rs10 lakh. An additional fund of Rs 80 lakh had been sanctioned for under-construction Bakani bridge, he said.— OC
