Jyeshta Purnima puja held at Chandanwari

SRINAGAR: On the occasion of Jyeshta Purnima, PK Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), performed pratham puja at Chandanwari on the traditional Pahalgam-holy cave track today.

On the occasion of Jyeshta Purnima, PK Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), performed pratham puja at Chandanwari on the traditional Pahalgam-holy cave track today. The shrine board has been organising the puja every year to seek blessings of Lord Shiva for the peaceful conduct of the Amarnath yatra.

The CEO was accompanied by SASB Additional CEO Jitendra K Singh, General Manager (Works) RK Pandita and other officers of the shrine board along with Col Sudhir Tokas, Commanding Officer, 26 Punjab Regiment; Nisar Ahmad Nisar, Sub-District Magistrate, Pahalgam; Muzaffar Khan, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Pahalgam and Karan Singh Charak, Sudershan Khajuria, Shakti Dutt and Deepak Sharma.

Tripathi inspected the ongoing works at the access control gate at Chandanwari and the exit gate which is being constructed ahead of the glacier towards Pissutop and directed officers of the Pahalgam Development Authority and the Tourism Department to expedite the work on the up-gradation of the track on the Pahalgam Axis and erection of shelter sheds and ensure timely repair of the damaged infrastructure.

The CEO also inspected the Nunwan Base Camp and reviewed the arrangements being made for a safe and comfortable stay of the pilgrims. He asked the engineers and officers of the departments and agencies concerned to work on war footing to put in place all required arrangements at the yatra camps on the route by June 30.
