Jammu: Underground concrete bomb shelter inaugurated at Gali Maidan
This bomb shelter will meet the long-standing demand of the locals for protection against shelling.

The Indian Army today inaugurated an underground concrete bomb shelter at Saujiyan Gali Maidan area on Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector in Jammu. The bomb shelter, which was constructed by the army, was inaugurated in presence of a large number of villagers and Commander from army.
Defence spokesman, Lt Col Manish Mehta said, "The need for this bomb shelter was felt after numerous casualties of villagers took place in the frequent unprovoked firing across the LoC in which the Pakistan army targeted Indian posts and locals.
STATE-OF-THE-ART BUNKER
The concrete shelter will provide protection not only to the villagers but it will also be useful to the Bakarwals passing through the village.
The underground shelter coasted approximately Rs. 8 Lakhs and has the provision of attached toilet and solar lighting.
PROTECTION AGAINST SHELLING
This bomb shelter will meet the long standing demand of the locals for protection against shelling. This gesture of the army will build the confidence of locals staying close to the border. It may be recalled that Pakistani Rangers target our civilian areas in Saujain as the enemy is sitting on higher position.
This is crossing area of Pakistani terrorists towards Kashmir valley and Jammu region and number of encounters had taken place in this area.
