Before his present appointment Air Marshal Nambiar was Senior Air Staff Officer at Southern Air Command and Training Command. The Air Officer is an alumnus of National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 1981 as a Flying Pilot.
