The survey was carried out under the coordination of NHRC member Govinda Sharma Poudyal in Gorkha, Dhading, Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts.
The research reveals that the quake survivors in the districts are still living under difficulties. They are living in the same temporary shelters built as an immediate relief after the quake last year. Some of the victims from Gorkha are yet to receive the government-announced aid of Rs15,000.
Central Bureau of Statistics engineers have made several errors during their survey, according to the study. The quake-victims in Rasuwa are forced to live in open lands paying a hefty sum to the landlords. However, now these landlords are pressurising to vacate the lands.
“Elderly, differently-abled people, women and children are living in temporary shelters,” read the report, “Human rights of quake-victims are at risk.”
