6 killed, 12 hurt as truck hits passenger vehicle in MP

Sidhi, MP, Jun 20 (UNI) As many as six labourers were killed, five of them on the spot while 12 others sustained injuries when a cement-laden truck collided head-on with a passenger vehicle near Tendua village on Sidhi-Rewa road about 12 km from this district headquarters, police said.
The accident occurred when the labourers were returning home from Sidhi town last evening. The injured were rushed to District Hospital where one succumbed to his injures during treatment. Three grievously injured were referred to Rewa for further treatment.
The dead were identified as Mahesh Yadav (12), Vinod Rawat (26), Ramavtar Kol (26), Jagdhari Yadav (50) and Hemlal Gupta (50) – all of them died instantaneously while another man, who died in hospital, was yet to be identified, police added.
