Now after so many years, the No. 1 series is returning with the remakes of Hero No. 1, Biwi No. 1 and Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan among others.

There was a time in the 90s when adding No. 1 to every film title was a must for assured success at the box office. Those were the days when filmmakers believed in sticking to just one formula all their lives. It's as if doing anything different will harm them physically. Resultant? We saw a surge of films with No. 1 at the end. But it was the collective jodi of David Dhawan, Govinda and Vashu Bhagnani who turned it into a fad with the sporadic presence of Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in the fray as well. Now after so many years, the series is returning with the remakes of Hero No. 1, Biwi No. 1 and Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan among others. Yes, you read absolutely right. Eros International to acquire 50 percent stake in Bhagnani's Puja Entertainment & Pvt. Ltd. Under this joint venture, films like Hero No 1, Coolie No 1 and Biwi No 1 will be the among the first of Vashu Bhagnani films to be remade. They will also be looking at redoing Bade Miya Chote Miya, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Main and F.A.L.T.U. It's not just remakes that the company is interested in. They also have original concepts in the pipeline. While there is no official announcement on who will be cast in these films, a source told Mumbai Mirror, "Work on the script has already begun. The makers are considering Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh are on their wish-list for Hero No 1."
