The event was held in Australia at the Sunshine Coast, over the weekend. Gill had triumphed in all the 13 stages of the second leg of the APRC. The rally witnessed a heavy downpour on Saturday, followed by a foggy Sunday. Courtesy the same, officials cancelled the final four stages due to safety concerns. However, the weather condition and the cancellation of the stages did not affect Gill’s position as he already had a strong lead of 1 minute 59 seconds over his team-mate Fabian Kreim.

Commenting on his win in all 13 stages at the event, Gill Team MRF Skoda Fabia R5 said, “It was quite a challenging rally, quite difficult with the conditions changing all the time. But yeah, we got a good setup in the morning on Saturday, and pushed a little bit (to build up the lead)."

“The MRF team did exceptionally well. It was really difficult for everyone as the conditions were so harsh, but we were lucky to have no dramas.” he further added.
