Bhopal: 'Bal Film Mahotsav' has evoked huge response from Bhopalis. Inspiring and thought-provoking old movies are being organized for children during the three-day event, which ends on Monday. Movies that are to be screened on the final day of the film festival include Bhago Bhoot and The Goal.
"Children waste a lot of time watching cartoon channels and TV shows like Doraemon and others.
We decided to show them meaningful films, which may help them grow as a better human being. We wanted to educate the children through entertainment," said organizer Narendra Rao.
Several old and thought-provoking films like Asman se Gira, Dost Magarmachh, Ek Ajooba and Karamati Court have already been screened for children.
"These old movies are great assets, which can educate the next generation kids. We arranged movies with the help of Children Film Society and other organizations. Movies screened at the event promote love for nature and humankind among children. They affect children at an emotional level and impart knowledge, which they may not get from the books," he said. Parents were seen standing in queues alongwith their children even as the hall inside remain jam packed on Day 2. Children were given chocolates after the screening of the movie.
"I enjoyed all the films screened. It was fun," said young Piku.
