Mysuru: Srinivas Prasad Abhimanigala Balaga president Ayyanapura Shivakumar announced that Chamrajnagar district would observe a bandh on Monday, to register its protest against the party move to drop the revenue minister. The bandh would not apply to emergency services, he added. Nanjangud, the assembly constituency that Prasad represents, will also observe a shutdown on Monday.

"Prasad sanctioned various projects including the Government PU college and Ambedkar Bhavan in the district. There is not a single black mark in his career. Our protest will continue till he is re-inducted," said Shivkumar.
BJP MLC V Somanna said that Congress would suffer the consequences of dropping Srinivas Prasad. Hailing Prasad as a dalit leader who united all communities, Somanna said that Priyank Kharge would not be able to fill his shoes. "Congress will also suffer a setback in Mandya for dropping Ambareesh," he added.
On Sunday, Prasad's supporters blocked traffic on Bengaluru- Mysuru highway. Cops were forced to divert traffic at the Mysuru-Bengaluru junction on Outer Ring Road. Protests were also staged at Ramaswamy Circle and Field Marshal Cariappa Circle. The supporters heaped abuse on Siddaramaiah, accusing him of opportunism and protecting those guilty of corruption.
