MES students won the overall championship in the painting competition organised by the Anti Smoking Society, Qatar in connection with the World Environment Day. The competition was conducted at Ideal Indian School in various categories.
Eline Daris won the first prize in the Kids' category, Krishna Ashok won second in the Sub-junior category and Sarang Santhosh Krishna won first in the Junior category. Lavanya Baiju and Nandini Rajagopal shared the third position in the Pre-senior category, while Mahalakshmi Rajeev, Meenakshi Ashok and Nihala Sageer seized the first, second and third positions respectively in the Senior category.
Iniya Magesh, Abhijith S Kumar and Sanal PS also clinched the first, second and third positions respectively in the Super-senior category while Nazeel PS, Karthika Mahesh, Antony Peter, Sahal Rahman, Faheem PM and Sanil PS received special prizes.
At the Union Cyclist International Road World Championship painting competition for primary students, MES student B Sarvesh of Class III was the sole Indian participant who secured a winning position. The certificate and prize was handed to him by the organising committee chairman HE Sheikh Khalid bin Ali al Thani.
