JUI-F warns of protest against power outages

LAKKI MARWAT -  The district chapter of JUI-F has threatened to launch agitation if unbearable power load shedding was not halted during the holy month of Ramazan.

The warning came at a meeting held here in Lakki city on Sunday with district Ameer Maulana Abdul Rahim in the chair.

Office bearers, members of shura and party activists attended the meeting. The participants expressed deep anger over excessive outages and said that local PESCO employees were involved in carrying out unscheduled load shedding in urban and rural areas.

“In connivance with local concerned authorities the low ranking technical staff of Peshawar Electric Supply Company disconnects electricity supply by dropping power links on main transmission line”, they alleged.

He said that the continuous electricity breakdowns had made the lives of local people miserable to great extent in the holy month. “The residents of urban localities are hard hit by outages despite paying bills regularly”, he claimed.

The JUI-F chief held local PESCO executive engineer responsible for the mess and demanded his immediate transfer from the district.
