Shankar re-elected as CKP president

Benga luru: BL Shankar was re-elected president of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath on Sunday. Shankar, who got 70 votes, defeated noted artist Shivaprasad KT who could secure 34 votes.
Shankar's re-election comes in the backdrop of allegations by several Parishath members of irregularities against him. Among the complaints were appointment of unqualified lecturers and financial irregularities.
While Shankar will now continue as president, Prabhakar T won the e lection for the vice-president post. Prof MJ Kamalakshi with 63 votes is the general secretary. Besides them, 14 people were elected working committee members, while DK Chowta was made the treasurer. tnn
