BJP for speedy implementation of PoK refugees, migrants’ package

JAMMU, June 19: BJP has demanded speeding up of the implementation of Rs 2000 crore package for PoK refugees announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a part of Rs 80,000 crore package for the State last year, implementation of much talked about employment package for Kashmiri migrants announced way back in 2008 and settlement of issue of West Pak refugees on humanitarian grounds.
The demand was made by the BJP leaders while speaking on political and developmental resolution moved in the Party’s one day State Executive meeting here today. The resolution pertaining to prevailing political situation in the State, developmental programmes under taken by both Modi Government at Centre and coalition in the State etc.
The resolution was moved by Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Manhas which was seconded by BJP National Secretary Farooq Khan. The meeting also observed two minutes silence for the peace of the departed souls of the family members of the BJP activists.
The members while suggesting the amendments in the resolution demanded that no further delay be made in implementation of the package for PoK refugees. They also stressed that PM’s job package for Kashmiri migrants which is hanging in balance be implemented on war footing basis and the issue of West Pakistan refugees who are craving for grant of citizenship rights for decades together be settled on humanitarian grounds.
The members also suggested that work on the Tawi lake be taken up in hand as early as possible and the Nashri tunnel on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway be also opened for vehicular traffic immediately.
During the Working Committee meeting the Party also strongly condemned the recent sacrilegious act on temples in Jammu and termed it a conspiracy to derail the State from the path of progress and development started under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Coalition Government of PDP-BJP.
A resolution was also adopted in this regard in which an appeal was made to people to maintain peace at all costs and defeat the nefarious designs of those who want to harm the same for their vested interests.
Giving a tough warning to the forces trying to foment communal trouble in Jammu region by making conspiracies to indulge in sacrilegious acts in temples, BJP national vice president and incharge J&K Avinash Rai Khanna said that his Party has taken the issue seriously and those behind the conspiracy will not be spared and dealt under law seriously.
Talking to reporters at the sidelines of Party’s State Executive meting later, Khanna said that the people whose hand was behind the conspiracy have been identified and soon action under law will be taken against them as BJP has taken this seriously and it will not allow any body to harm the peace in Jammu region.
On upcoming Amarnath Ji yatra Khanna said both BJP and Government should work together to make the annual Amarnath yatra more successful and ensure that more and more pilgrims perform darshan at holy cave.
Ruling out any threat to the yatra, he said elaborate security arrangements for the pilgrims will be made by the Government and this year yatra will be run successfully like last year. He said Army, BSF, CRPF and local police will be deployed by the Government in adequate numbers to ensure fool proof security of pilgrims.
Earlier, addressing the concluding session of the Working Committee meeting, Khanna said that perserverance and whole hearted effort in executing an assignment by the party worker is of great importance.
Highlighting the achievements of Narendra Modi Government, he said that till now 54 schemes for ameliorating the hardships of the poor people have been launched. To educate the people about these schemes, the party at the national level has constituted 33 teams comprising Union Ministers and BJP national leaders, to visit 200 cities in the country. Mr Modi’s appeal to well off families to give up gas subsidy evoked tremendous response and one crore 13 lakh families voluntarily surrendered the subsidy resulting in the saving of Rs 36 thousand crore, he added.
He said on the efforts of Narendera Modi, Yoga has received international recognition, which is the honour of Indian culture and ethos. The long pending demand related to One Rank One Pension by ex-servicemen stands fulfilled by Modi Government, he said.
“Last year’s Amarnath yatra was exceptionally successful and incident free because of the efforts of the Union Government as well as BJP Coalition Government”, said Khanna and appealed the party activists to render assistance to the yatris coming this year on Amarnath yatra.
BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma CA, in his presidential address said that it is indeed a matter of pride for every activist that our party has become largest political party in the world with 11 crore members and in J&K it has registered 6 lakh members. BJP led NDA has completed two years while coalition in the State has completed one year and according to a survey almost half of the country’s population is somehow connected with PM Narendra Modi through one or the other welfare scheme launched during this period.
The party Ministers including Health and Medical Education Minister Bali Bhagat, Forest Minister, Ch Lal Singh, Industries Minister, Chander Parkash Ganga and Animal and Sheep Husbandry Minister, Abdul Gani Kohli presented the details of the special steps and contribution made by them through their Ministries for the benefits of the public.
The district presidents presented the reports of their respective districts related to programmes being held during the last three months and also brief about the future course of action for reaching the masses.
At the meeting, BJP State general secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, spoke about the organizational programmes to be organized at different levels in the coming days. He also announced that the next State Working Committee meeting will be held at Srinagar on 28th of September this year.
Koul said a discernible change is visible in the State and the recent successful of Kheerbhawani yatra where a record number of pilgrims visited followed by an encouraging statement by Chief Minster Mehbooba Mufti who too visited the holy shrine to receive the pilgrims has convened a good message among the peace loving people of the State. The success of Shadipora Dashhar in which over 20,000 devotees participated has indicated that situation in Kashmir valley is changing for better.
