Pillion rider mowed down by truck on Sohna Road

A 38-year-old pillion rider died on Sohna Road after a truck hit the bike he was on and ran him over on Saturday. The biker was hospitalised. The truck driver, Trigpal, was arrested and later released on bail.

Gurgaon: A 38-year-old pillion rider died on Sohna Road after a truck hit the bike he was on and ran him over on Saturday. The biker was hospitalised. The truck driver, Trigpal, was arrested and later released on bail.The deceased, Latur Saini from Dausa, Rajasthan, was a construction worker. The injured, Harkesh Pandey (32) works for a private firm.
Both lived in Sector 49.
The duo was on its way to the Badshapur market when, at around 1.30pm, a truck hit their bike from behind on Sohna Road throwing both off the bike. "The truck mowed down Saini. He died on the spot," said ACP Hawa Singh. "The injured Pandey was rushed to a nearby hospital. A case was registered at Sadar police station for rash driving, causing death by negligence, causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others and mischief causing damage," added Singh. tnn
