All Power' to the stars!

Puneeth Rajkumar and Parul Yadav share their joy at their best actor awards.

There were many highs at the 63rd Film Awards (South). And among them was the incredibly-toned Puneeth Rajkumar who scored a boundary with his film Ranavikrama at the awards ceremony held at the Hyderabad Convention Centre on Saturday.

For the Power Star, this is his fourth award. He had earlier won best actor in 2007 for Arasu, and in 2012 for Hudugaru, and another one as a child artist. The Power Star considers this one particularly special, “This one is special for me as it is my fourth award; and the third as a hero and the fourth overall. As always, I am really excited to hold the black lady. I always love it as it reminds me of my father Dr Rajkumar, with whom I used to come for this award function.” After his recent success with Chakrayuha, Puneeth will be back in Sur’s Dodmane Huduga and then in Rajkumara.

The beautiful Parul Yadav, who is on a roll after bagging the award for best actor in a leading role (female) (Kannada) for Aatagara, has been busy postings thanks to her fans and audience on social networking sites.

The other actresses in the awards kitty were Nayanthara, Anushka and Parvathy, with the best male actor awards also going to Rajkumar, Nani, Jayasurya and Sanchari Vijay in other regional languages.

Parul is thrilled, and gushes, “It's is obviously a great feeling to own an award for the best actress female. The role I played in Aatagara was something that a conventional actress would think 10 times before taking up, but I am glad I took a leap of faith and more than glad that it has paid off.

Thank you for supporting me and acknowledging my hard work,” said Parul Yadav who has been basking in her box office success with Jessie, and is awaiting the release of Vijayaditya starring alongside Dhananjay. The film is directed by a first-timer Nirbhay Chakravarthy.
