‘False cheating case filed to intimidate me’
MUMBAI: Former wife of actor Hritik Roshan, Sussanne Khan, on Sunday said a case of cheating reportedly filed against her is “false, motivated and preposterous”.
She told TOI from London that allegations of her having “cheated Emgee Enterprises and misrepresented that I am an architect” have “been filed only to intimidate me”. “The case is only to pressurize me to withdraw the arbitration proceedings initiated by me in the first instance to recover my dues and damages resulting from breach of contract”.
The entrepreneur and interior designer Khan was booked by Panaji police in an alleged Rs 1.87 crore cheating case by a real estate firm, Emgee Properties. The complainant, Mudhit Gupta, accused her of “falsely projecting herself as an architect to secure a contract with the company.” But stating her case, Khan said she had challenged the termination of a contract and had invoked arbitration under the contract for recovery of her dues from the firm.
“I am going to take the arbitral proceedings to the logical conclusions... and instead of getting intimated will respond to such frivolous complaint and will give a befitting response . Such complaints do not scare me rather it encourages me to stand up for the truth. The allegations are false and defamatory,” said Khan whose lawyer Hitesh Jain plans to take the next step in the case. — Swati Deshpandecw 1 30m;hr 0;fr 0;fc 0;lc 0;
