Power firms make new websites operational

Patna: State power companies have almost completed the transition of consumer billing related work from SCADA to SAP software system for urban area consumers.
The added features of the new websites include option to create account that maintains every record of the consumer. It will help the users track their electricity consumption. It also has an online complaint facility and a feedback section for the consumers.
However, with new developments in place, the north and south power distribution companies have made a minor change in their web addresses for consumers under Re-structured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) network, that is consumers belonging to urban areas of Bihar.

Sources in the power companies said from the earlier www.nbpdcl.in and www.sbpdcl.in, the web address has been changed to www.nbpdcl.co.in and www.sbpdcl.co.in. The new websites have also been made open for consumers.
SBPDCL's new website reads, "This facility is only available for urban divisions of Fatuha, Masaurhi, Jehanabad, Aurangabad (Daudnagar), Makhdumpur, Barh, Bakhtiyarpur, Sheikhpura, Sasaram, Bihta, Maner, Dumraon, Buxar (urban), Warsaliganj, Dehri, Danapur, Kankarbagh, Kankarbagh II, Biharsharif (urban), Ara, Nawada, Bhabhua, Jamui, Rajgir, Ekangarsarai, Bhagalpur (rural), Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai (U), Sherghati, Rajendra Nagar, Gulzarbagh, Bankipur, Dakbangalow, Pataliputra, Patna City."

Under the NBPDCL, Araria-I, Bagaha, Bairgania, Barauli, Barauni, Begusarai, Bettiah, Chhapra, Darbhanga, Dhaka, Forbesganj, Gogari, Gopalganj, Hajipur, Katihar, Khagaria, Mahnar Bazar, Motihari, Narkatiyaganj, Purnia, Ramnagar, Revelganj, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Sonepur, Sugauli, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Raxaul are the urban divisions opened to the facility.
The consumer numbers in Kosi area has been changed with the changes in place. The new NBPDCL website asks to visit: http://infoebill.com/infosoft_bill/frmenergybill.aspx for searching new consumer id. The company is now in process of dedicating software developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) for billing purposes in rural areas. Plans are to connect it to the integrated payment gateway. For now, the bills are updated on the old websites of the company, www.northbiharbills.org and bills.sbpdcl.in for north and south Bihar, respectively. Payment options are also available on the websites.
One of the consumers of Danapur division, Jyoti Kumari, said the new website is really easy to use.
