A three-year-old boy, who was playing outside his house in South-West Delhi’s Najafgarh, was crushed to death by a pick-up truck on Friday morning.

According to the police, driver Dabbu Shah (30) was inebriated and did not stop the vehicle even after running over Chinmay. Eyewitnesses said the boy’s father, Devinder (30), was standing at a distance when the incident happened. The boy was rushed to a hospital, but was declared brought dead. The driver was arrested after locals caught him.

Shah later told the police that he did not realise that the boy had been run over.
