Why Irrfan Khan is taking his son to Sabarmati Ashram on Father's Day
Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan has something quite unique planned for his younger son, Ayan, on Father’s Day. Instead of being pampered by Ayan, Irrfan is taking him on an educational tour-to teach Ayan about how the ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi, truly lived up to his title. Irrfan wants Ayan, to understand the Gandhian philosophy. The actor, who plays a vigilante in his upcoming film, ‘Madaari’, and believes in Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology, will take his 11-year-old son to Sabarmati Ashram today.
According to The Times Of India, Irrfan will also share with Ayan the historical significance of the place and how Gandhiji initiated his historic quest for India’s independence from the ashram in Ahmedabad. A source close to the actor’s family says, “Irrfan wants Ayan to experience the tranquility at the ashram and give him an insight into Indian history. It was his idea that he and his son pay homage to Gandhiji on Father’s Day.”
Confirming their travel to Sabarmati Ashram, Irrfan said, “Mahatma Gandhi was a common man who brought about such a huge change in society. I want to introduce my son to the father of the nation who is a representative of the extraordinary amongst ordinary men.”
