“Person of Interest” (POI) has ran for a good five seasons and now it arrives to its final episode. The Season 5 Episode 13 finale for the whole series is titled “Return 0.” Fans continue to hope the show would be revived somewhere but, for now, it’s all about coming to terms with the end.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Person of Interest” spoilers. Continue reading if you would like to know what happens next before the airing of the new episode.

Viewers and entertainment news sources alike are feeling excited and emotional as the final episode called “Return 0” draws closer. The series has showcased the battle between the Samaritan and the Machine, two immensely powerful artificial intelligences that have omnipotent presence and access to technology and information. However, all battles must end and that is what the show creator Jonathan Nolan decided to do.

Hence, expect the last episode to answer all the questions and conflicts that were posed throughout the last five seasons of the show. Also, expect that the remaining characters of the team will be faced with the toughest situations compared to their previous experiences. They will be placed in situations that will force them to make highly volatile decisions that determine their make or break.

In an interview with TV Line, Ashley Gable says that the series finale will expectedly up with a "bloodbath." The same article reveals that the original title for this episode is actually "Everyone Dies Alone."

Viewers can watch out for new dilemmas that the characters may face. On their one last mission together, the team may risk being eradicated and, at the same time, have a closer relationship with each other, Carter Matt reports.

According to the official synopsis for the upcoming finale, the team composed of: Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman), Harold Finch (Michael Emmerson), John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) will embark on their final mission. Just like in their previous missions, their goal is to counter the Samaritan’s plans. However, this time around, they will be facing the Samaritan on a head on collision as it attempts to destroy the Machine. Once the Samaritan gets rid of the Machine, this will cement its grip over mankind. Whether the team or the Samaritan will be victorious will be answered during the series finale.

It is a question whether there is another storyline hidden in the plot description. Speculations say that there may be something else, as it is often a good move to end a show with some leg room for possibilities. However, the show runners and creators have repeatedly said during the past weeks that the episode caters the proper conclusion to close the story, Entertainment Weekly says.

The series finale of “Person of Interest” airs June 21 on CBS. It also airs on FX in Australia.
