Perform or perish, says GPCC chief to workers

Panaji:Urging Congress workers to put in their best for the 2017 assembly polls, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president, Luizinho Faleiro, on Saturday said that “this is the time when we must perform or perish”.
Addressing the party’s state executive meet in Panaji, Falerio said the ensuing assembly elections are crucial for Goa and Goans and hence the party workers have a bigger role to play in convincing the people to vote for the Congress.Opposition leader Pratapsingh Rane, former chief minister Digambar Kamat, MLAs Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, office bearers Moti Desai, M K Shaikh, Mario Pinto, Ulhas Parab were present at the meeting.
Lambasting the BJP, Faleiro said issues like casinos, drugs, price rise and unemployment were the issues BJP had listed in the list against the Congress in 2011, are yet to be resolved. The economy has gone from bad to worse under the BJP regime and the people are now looking at the Congress as an alternative, he added.
Faleiro stated that the party is entering a crucial phase that “will test their organizational integrity, skills, discipline and team spirit”.
Faleiro set tasks for block committees and announced the appointment of observers in all 40 constituencies. He said that the observers will send in their reports on the functioning of the block. They will attend meetings and assist the blocks in self-assessment and in identifying and assessing of candidates for the ensuing elections.
