10 students fall ill after breakfast at school

Chennai: Ten Class 12 students were admitted to a private hospital in Pallavaram on Friday after they experienced drowsiness and began to vomit following breakfast at a private boarding school in the area. Doctors at the hospital said the condition of all the students was stable.
Police said nearly 70 students live and study on at the school which is located on the Pallavaram-Pammal Road.
On Friday morning, the Class 12 students were scheduled to attend special class. Around 7.30am, they finished breakfast and trooped into the class for the special session. Soon, as the class was in progress, the students complained of drowsiness and a few of them fainted.
All of them were rushed to the private hospital and samples of the breakfast they were served was sent to a labaratory. The Pallavaram police registered a case. tnn
