Rajya Sabha poll a big conspiracy, says Tanwar

Kaithal, June 18

The recently held Rajya Sabha elections in the state were part of a conspiracy hatched by the state government and the BJP supported Independent candidate Subhash Chandra. This was stated by state Congress president Ashok Tanwar while addressing a press conference here today.

Tanwar alleged that the BJP indulged in corrupt practices and made mockery of the democracy. “By this act, the BJP government has lost its credibility not only in the eyes of the people of the state but also in the entire country,” he said. Tanwar alleged that grave irregularities committed during the Rajya Sabha poll had been brought to the notice of the Election Commission and the Congress had demanded re-poll for both the seats. He said the state government had failed on all fronts and lacked vision and commitment. —TNS
