Section 144 imposed in Deoband after allegations of exodus

Deoband (Saharanpur), Jun 18 (UNI) List of 40 families released by Bajrang Dal has alerted administration here and in same reference section 144 has been imposed in the area for precautionary measures. District Magistrate Pawan Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pradeep Yadav went to Deoband today and held a meeting with local officers for the assessment of the situation. Sub divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhanu Pratap Yadav told UNI that DM has instructed to deal strictly with those who want to disturb peace of the area. “Facts in the list are not genuine and situation here at Deoband is normal” he added. Mr Yadav said,''section 144 has been imposed in Deoband. Administration will not allow any troubling elements to disturb peace of the area. Inspection of the list has also been done by revenue department. Their list is ready. It will be provided to government when asked so. We have verbally informed the senior authorities.'' SSP today took a round of the areas where both communities are living together. DM and SSP both instructed the local officers to be fully vigilant and maintain the peace and harmony in the area. On the other hand regional secretary of Bajrang Dal Vikas Tyagi said migration of the families happened due to terror, insecurity and appeasement policy of state government.
