SRINAGAR: Reiterating that transfer of power projects from NHPC to Jammu and Kashmir is an important part of the developmental agenda of the PDP-BJP coalition, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh said the State Government will work with the Centre for transfer of these projects.

Meanwhile, the report of consultant, hired by the Government  to work out the present cost of the power projects owned by NHPC in the State, is under examination in the State Power Development Corporation (SPDC), Mr Singh said who also holds power portfolio, Akbar Lone of opposition National Conference (NC) in the Legislative Assembly today.

He said transfer of power projects is an important part of the coalition Government’s developmental agenda. As stated in the Agenda of Alliance, in order to address the real source of J&K’s fiscal problem and pave the way for making J&K fiscally autonomous State, the State Government will work with the union Government for transfer of these power projects.

He said the State Government will explore modalities for transfer of Dulhasti and Uri Hydro Power Projects as suggested by the Rangarajan Committee report and the Round Table reports.  (AGENCIES)
