BAKU, Azerbaijan -- Sergio Perez will take a five-place grid penalty in Baku after crash damage in FP3 resulted in Force India changing his car's gearbox.

Perez made contact with the barriers at the exit of Turn 15 on his final flying lap of the session, damaging the right-rear corner of the car. As part of the repairs the team needed to fit a new gearbox, breaking the six-race run a gearbox is required to complete under the regulations.

Force India has looked quick all weekend, making the penalty particularly galling for Perez who was third fastest in second practice and sixth fastest in final practice.
