Bokaro: Two different cases of loot were reported in the district on Friday. Motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched Rs 10 lakh cumulatively from a contractor and teacher in separate incidents.
Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Upadhayay, a teacher of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, was looted at 11am on Friday withdrawing cash from Allahabad Bank under city police station.
At 2 pm near Bokaro Niwas, miscreants snatched Rs 7.93 lakh from Mohd Sarwar Imam and Riaz Ahmed.
"In both incidents, the miscreants probably studied their victims before looting them," said Chas DSP Arvind Kumar Sinha.
Police said accused hail from Katihar district of Bihar. Police is assessing CCTV footage to track down the miscreants. Bokaro SP Y S Ramesh said bordering areas have been sealed, while raids are on to nab the criminals. An FIR has been lodged in this connection.
