Certificate in Hindi

Farmers’ representatives and the officials who congratulated ‘Abinavam’ S. Jayaraman on winning the national award were shocked to notice that the certificate given by the Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, was in Hindi. Except the numerical, the name of the organisations presenting the award, the name of the recipient, purpose of the award, everything was in Hindi.

Even the signatures of the officials, their names and designations were in Hindi.

The IARI would have won the appreciation of the farmers, if it had given the certificate in English, observed the farmers.
