Students of Sangeet Natak Academy awardee Yeleswarapu Srinivasulu performed a scintillating Kuchipudi dance recital here.

The annual Brahmotsavam at the Srigiri Venkateswara temple here set the right ambiance for the young dancers Suresh, Phani, Lasya, Pranthi, Sravya, Namita and Nashita to win a huge applause here late on Thursday by performing the ‘Prahalada Pattabhishegam Shabdam.’

The Dasavataram dance by the young dancers kept the audience spell-bound.

Srinvasulu, who has learnt the nuances of Kuchipudi from illustrious gurus like Dr. Vempati Pedda Satyam, Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, V. Satyanarayana Sarma, Sri Vedantam Radheshyam and M. Sriramulu Sarma, wanted to preserve Kuchipudi for posterity by kindling interest in the members of GenX in the traditional dance form. He had performed over 2,000 dance programmes with in the country and abroad, including the USA, Canada, France and United Kingdom.

He presently does research on the ‘Prathinayaka role’ in Kuchipudi dance form.
