Nurpur to have Bhagat Singh’s statue

Nurpur, June 17

To pay rich tributes to martyr Bhagat Singh and three other late personalities of the area Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, Bakshi Tek Chand and Sat Mahajan, the local Municipal Council (MC) today decided to establish their statues at different places in the town.

MC Chairperson Krishna Mahajan said the MC at its meeting had decided to establish these statues as a mark of respect to the martyr and the area’s other personalities. Besides, these would be an inspiration to the youngsters, he added. — OC
