Jakarta Sports and Youth Agency head Firmansyah said Thursday that to meet the target, the Jakarta contingent would have to win 195 gold medals from the 64 sports staged in PON XIX.
“We have coordinated with the National Sports Committee and to be the winner we need to win 195 gold medals,” Firmansyah said as quoted by beritajakarta.com. In the previous games, held in Riau four years ago, Jakarta was crowned the winner with 110 gold medals, 101 silver medals and 112 bronze medals.
Firmansyah added that the most gold medals were expected to be won in baseball, gymnastics, athletics and swimming, adding that it did not mean that the team would not focus on other sports.
