Vadodara: The admissions to B.Com regular course began on Thursday with the Faculty of Commerce witnessing a heavy rush of students despite the low pass percentage in HSC general stream in Vadodara district this year.
The Faculty of Commerce accounts for nearly half of university's total student strength. The district had registered 49.10 percent pass percent in the results that were declared last month.

The spot admissions to the BCom regular will end on July 7.
In BCom honours programme, 180 seats have already been filled up since Tuesday when the admission began. The cut-off marks for the honors programme was 69%.
Also, the admission in BBA programme has been completed with 100 seats on regular payment, 40 on higher payment and 40 under special payment category.
"Since last 2-3 years, we have been admitting around 5,600 students. We have received 7,500 online registrations this time. There has been an increase in the number in comparison to last year," said professor Sharad Bansal, dean, Faculty of Commerce.
Meanwhile, there is some relief from long queues for students seeking admission in MK Amin Padra College. The college, which is a constituent of the Faculty of Commerce, has finally started admission process at it's own building. Till last year, the admission to this college was centralized.
"We will ensure that all local students get admission," said Bansal.
Candidates from outside Gujarat applying for BCom regular will require minimum 55% to apply whereas those below 54% will get admission at M K Amin Padra College.
