Maoist threat letters to BDOs fake, say cops
Bokaro: The district police said on Thursday the threat letter that was sent to the block development officer of Nawadih by the CPI(Maoist) on Tuesday, asking him to leave the job within 15 days, was fake. A similar letter was also sent to Jaridih BDO Rinku Kumari that also turned out to be fake, said police.
Kumari was the third BDO in the district to get a threat letter.
"Maoists have not issued any such letter. A miscreant from Giridih's Barmasia area is sending the letters to BDOs in the name of Maoists. Such letters have been received by many BDOs across the state and even in Odisha, Bihar and West Bengal," said SP Y S Ramesh. All the BDOs have been given security after the letters.
The letter marked with red ink was sent through ordinary postal service from Baramasia. The police said the names, Ravinder Verma and Anjani Kumar Sinha, mentioned in the letters were also fake.
The duo are advocates in Barmasia. Investigation is on to arrest the imposter. SP Ramesh said they have intensified investigation to detect the miscreant.
