Kapil Tammal appointed ECD, DDB Mudra West

DDB Mudra West has appointed Kapil Tammal as Executive Creative Director. Tammal will work from Mudra House, Mumbai and will report to Rahul Mathew, Creative Head, DDB Mudra West.

Tammal is making the move from Scarecrow Communications where he was one of the founding employees. He has been Executive Creative Director as well as the Design Director there since 2011. Before Scarecrow, he was associated with agencies such as McCann Erickson, Umbrella Design, Triton Communications and Concept Communications.

With more than 15 years of experience, Tammal specialises in brands across categories ranging from FMCG, e-commerce businesses, apparel, financial sector, retail, real estate and media. He has worked on brands such as Anchor Panasonic, &Pictures, Big Cinemas, Cathay Pacific, DNA, DBS Bank, Danone BLUE, Emami, Fiama Di Wills, L’Oreal, Maybelline, Nestle, Siemens, Spykar and Vaseline.

His work has been recognised on national and global platforms including Cannes Lions, Young Spikes, Abbys and Kyoorius.

A press release quoted Tammal as saying, “While DDB Mudra West has always been a creative powerhouse, globally, what really impressed me was the rapid inroads the agency has made in the Indian market, in recent times.”

Neo@Ogilvy appoints strategy head for India

Neo@Ogilvy has brought in Deepankar Kapoor as Vice-President and Head of Strategy – India, Neo@Ogilvy. He will be based in Gurgaon.

A press release says Kapoor comes to Neo@Ogilvy with work experience that is diverse and spans eight years in digital strategy and planning. Kapoor has worked on multiple aspects of this business – creative, content, media, technology and CRM providing solutions for a roster of blue-chip brands. He joins Neo@Ogilvy from Havas Media where he was leading the digital strategy function while working with brands such as Star TV, Sun Pharmaceuticals, LG, Amway and Xolo.

He holds an MBA from the University of Calcutta, a degree in Communications Management from Symbiosis International University and a Diploma in Cyber Laws from Government Law College, Mumbai.
